When a baby is born, a mother is born — and she deserves care too.

My own postpartum experience changed everything I thought I knew about strength, healing, and womanhood.

After a traumatic birth, an unexpected NICU stay, and a long recovery marked by exhaustion and depletion, I realized how little support existed for mothers once they returned home, when the world assumed they were “fine.”

In those early months, I kept asking myself:

What if mothers were cared for as intentionally as the babies they bring into the world?

What if mothers had access to the support, nourishment, education, and guidance they needed to truly rebuild?

Those questions changed the course of my life.

After more than a decade of running a successful creative agency, I decided to take a leap and pursue the education needed to make that vision a reality.

What began as a personal healing journey soon became a mission:

To redefine what postpartum care can be—rooted in nourishment, movement, community, and support.

Today, I'm building the first phase of that vision through hands-on doula care, nourishment guidance, and education.

Together, these pieces form the foundation of The Wellmother Method™—a more complete approach to helping mothers prepare, replenish, and rebuild.

Because recovery isn't enough. Mothers deserve replenishment.

Hi, I’m Marisa Switzer

But more importantly, I'm a mother who learned firsthand that postpartum recovery wasn't designed to support mothers the way it should.

MY APPROACH

MY APPROACH

A woman with curly hair sitting on a beige couch, holding a plate with lemon wedges, wearing a white long-sleeve shirt.

Recovery Isn't Enough.

MY APPROACH

Modern postpartum care often focuses on surviving the fourth trimester.

But mothers deserve more than survival. They deserve nourishment. They deserve support. They deserve restoration. That's why I created Wellmother.

As a certified Postpartum Doula and Functional Nutritionist, I believe true recovery requires more than a six-week checkup.

My work brings together:

  • Nutrition

  • Postpartum planning

  • Meal preparation

  • Hands-on support

  • Functional wellness

  • Compassionate care

Because postpartum support shouldn't end when the casseroles stop coming.

The Wellmother Method™

At the heart of Wellmother is a simple belief:

When a mother is cared for, everything changes.

Our philosophy is built around three phases:

Prepare

Intentional planning before baby arrives.

Replenish

Hands-on support and nourishment during the fourth trimester.

Rebuild: Coming Soon

Long-term restoration beyond breastfeeding.

Together, these phases form The Wellmother Method™—a more complete approach to postpartum care.

Looking Ahead

Wellmother was born from a simple but radical idea: that postpartum recovery deserves the same level of care and structure as pregnancy itself.

Right now, that begins in your home, through hands-on support, nourishment, and guidance during your fourth trimester.
But the vision extends far beyond that.

In the coming years, Well Mother will grow into a physical wellness space where mothers can find everything they need in one place: nutrition and lab testing, postpartum movement, pelvic floor therapy, mental health care, and community support.

Because when a mother is well, her entire family thrives.
And it’s time every woman had access to the care, community, and knowledge she deserves.

  • Marisa made those first weeks feel manageable — even peaceful. She anticipated what I needed before I knew how to ask for it, from emotional reassurance to practical help with feeding, rest, and routines. Having her by my side gave me the confidence to slow down, heal, and actually enjoy my baby.
